LUCA BULGARELLI

Luca Bulgarelli was born in Abruzzo, central Italy, in 1972. He studied electric bass and double bass. He attended Siena Jazz workshops in 1972, where he got a scholarship for merit. He received a Double Bass Diploma in 1997 at the Campobasso Conservatory.

He has played in the most important Italian and International Jazz Festivals which include Perugia, Pescara, Rome, New York, Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Paris, Lion, Porto, Malaga, Tel Aviv, Budapest, Copenhagen, Beijing, Algiers, Montreal, L ‘ Aja, Luxemburg, Brussels, Warsaw, Tokyo, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Helsinky, Tallin, Bergen, Istanbul, Vienna, Basel, and Zurich.

He has collaborated with: Enrico Pieranunzi, Roberto Gatto, Maurizio Giammarco, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Rita Marcotulli, Mariapia De Vito, Nicola Stilo, Rosario Giuliani, Stefano Bollani, Gianluca Petrella, Fabrizio Bosso, Gunther Schuller, Kenny Wheeler, Mike Manieri, George Garzone, Toninho Horta, Alain Jean Marie, Mundell Lowe, Philip Catherine, Rick Margitza, Bob Mintzer, Tooth Thielemans, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Stefano Di Battista.

In the Pop Music scene, he has collaborated with: Mimmo Locasciulli, Francesco De Gregori, Beppe Servillo, Paola Turci, Daniele Silvestri and Sergio Cammariere with whom he recorded 5 albums.
