Born in New York, daughter of a musician, Joy Garrison started to sing under the guidance of her father Jimmy Garrison (the bassist of the historic John Coltrane quartet, for years). She has sung in the most important clubs of Manhattan with Barney Kessel, Cameron Brown, Billy Heart, Ronnie Matthews, Hank Jones, Kevin Hubanks, Alberta Hunter just to name a few. Jazz, Gospel, Blues, Funk music are her passion. Garrison has been performing for years, mainly as a soloist. She has recorded six albums.

Joy Garrison plays her concerts all over the Europe, ranging through all the possible expressive syles.

She has participated in many radio and tv shows with artists like Zucchero, Carmen McRae, Giovanni Tommaso, Tony Scott, Renzo Arbore, Romano Mussolini, Gloria Esteban and many others.
