The Stage Management course by Daniele Baddaria studies one of the leading figures in the live audio department: the stage director or stage manager.

Workshop of 30 hours (10 meetings of 3 hours, Saturday, every two weeks) is divided into an Ist base module and a 2nd advanced module (for those who have already attended the first module in the academic year 2017/2018), is starting from January 19th, 2019.
The stage director has the task of acquiring and meeting the artists’ technical requirements, organizing, and managing the movements on the stage, coordinating the technicians such as backline, sound engineers and stage technicians.
The aim of the course is to give students a concrete idea of what happens in front of and behind the scenes: in concerts, in the world of television, in conferences, and in the theater by emphasizing step by step the fundamental aspects of each of the figures professional support.
The training proposal thus presents itself as a journey through the many aspects of technical work, from pre-production to the practical realization of an event.

Module I (base) Saturday, 10:00am – 1:00pm (Round A)
The first module analyzes the figure of the Stage Manager applied in the various working environments of the show: live show, theater, conference, and television. We analyze several departments that gravitate around this value as operators and audio technicians, together with the professional people with whom he collaborates, determining tasks and roles of each according to the many situations. It also illustrates the relationships with the production and the agencies that gravitate around this world, describing in depth the facets of the role of the Stage Manager in the various working fields.

Module II (advanced) Saturday, 2:00pm – 5:00pm (Round A)
The second module involves theoretical and practical work of the position of a stage manager. The Technical Rider is meticulously analyzed analyzing the form and contents and learning to decipher them for the implementation of a show. The analysis will continue through the discovery of the several areas of the stage, the use dedicated to them, and the specific terminology that distinguishes them. The last part of the module is dedicated to the knowledge of the Festivals, from the different existing typologies and from the pre-production, to the field setting, and the stage changes.

Only the students who have already attended the first module in the academic year can attend the II module. 2017/2018. It is not possible to register for both modules in the same academic year.

Daniele Baddaria faced the world of entertainment in 2005, based on his experience of fifteen years of career on stage, debuting as a simple audio technician soon became a generic Backline, and then followed the technical skills acquired on the field first of all the role of Assistant Stage Manager. In the end, that of Stage Manager, also dedicated to the role of Floor Manager and Director of Scena. Among the many experiences accumulated in Tours, Theaters, and Conventions, he collaborated with the most famous TV stations, with Symphonic Orchestras and Big Bands in Italy and abroad, enjoying the privilege of working in the most prestigious Italian festivals.
