Selections are open to participating in the International Writers Camp 2018, an international contest organized by the Conservatory of Haarlem, Holland for:

1 producer who can record voice/instruments and has the knowledge to edit and mix
1 songwriter/composer of pop songs in the broadest sense of the term
1 instrumentalist or vocalist
1 electronic music composer

The International Writers Camp (IWC) is an annual event organized by the Conservatorium Haarlem to introduce students to Pop and E-music for the real world of the music industry, and help them expand their horizons and their skills by allowing them to work with their creative minds from other musical genres, other professions, and other countries.

The IWC is powered by real commercial assignments entrusted by distinguished representatives of the music industry, including BMG / Talpa, Armanda Music & Strengholt Music. The incredible learning experience for all participants is to enjoy an international experience and create new contacts in just a few days.

This year’s edition will take place from Monday, November 5th to Friday, November 9th.

On the first day, the students will be divided into groups formed by a singer/instrumentalist, an electronic musician, a producer, and an instrumentalist. Students will then be invited to choose the project to work on during the following three days.

The IWC will end on Friday, November 9th with a presentation of the final results. All representatives of the production companies and labels will be members of the jury and will evaluate the work presented by the students, whether it can be used for a real musical project.

The Conservatory is located in Haarlem, a historic city 15 km from Amsterdam, and specializes in pop and electronic music (dance music, studio production, and audio for media).

The Conservatory will provide basic accommodation to all participating students. Travel and meals are at the expense of the participants.

To propose your application to the IWC 2018, send to two tracks or works that represents the chosen position (to be specified in the subject in the e-mail) by October 10th.

We recommend sending the songs via links to the storage system (Dropbox or similar), or a platform (Soundcloud, Youtube, etc.). It is possible to apply for different positions at the same time (ex. singer and songwriter). Specify it in the e-mail application.
