Gabriele Petrillo was born in Northern Italy in 1987. He is a musician, arranger and teacher and got his High Education Diploma in Saint Louis College of Music of Rome. From 2006 to 2011 he studied Electric Bass, Harmony, and Arrangement under the guidance of Gianfranco Gullotto, Marco Siniscalco, Pierpaolo Principato, Andrea Avena and Amedeo Tommasi. In 2009, he attended an intensive Workshop with Darryl Jones. From 2008 to 2012 he attended master classes with Billy Sheehan, Jeff Berlin, Guy Pratt, Pino Forastiere, Lorenzo Feliciati and Josè Fiorilli.
In 2011 he took part in the VII edition of “Roma Jazz’s Cool” where he studied with International musicians such as John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, Charis Ioannou and Ramberto Ciammarughi. In the summer of 2011, he played with the pianist Emilio Merone (Saint Louis educator and author of the album “Element” with Antonio Sanchez and Scott Colley) in his project “Partenopea”. In 2012, he was in London with the project “Melotrio” again with the pianist Emilio Merone.
He collaborated, both live and in studio, with: Angelo Anastasio (Bocelli, Baglioni, Bobby Kimball), Mario Zaccagnini (Marcella Bella, Gianni Bella), Fabrizio Aiello (Randy Brecker, Matthew Garrison), Piero Pierantozzi (Andrea Braido), Andrea Saponara (Stef Burns, Steve Rogers Band), and Alessandro Valle (Francesco De Gregori, Richard Bennet).
Musician and arranger, he collaborated in music productions and in the recording studios Ploystudios of Rome, Real time Studios in Bracciano and Dream Room in San Marino, where he recorded, as bass player and arranger, T.V jingles for the company Tre Valli cooperlat and Expansion Group. Since 2011, he has taught in the music schools Little Contemporary Orchestra, Ghostrack studio, and Novamusica 2.0 of Rome and in the pre-academic Courses of Saint Louis.
