Federico Placidi

Federico Placidi studied Double Bass at the Conservatory of S. Cecilia, Composition and Electronic Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
He studied in Paris at the Center de Création Musicale Iannis Xenakis (CCMIX), with Agostino Di Scipio, Trevor Wishart and Curtis Roads.
Together with Matteo Milani he is the founder of U.S.O. Project aka Unidentified Sound Object.
He has been an artist in residence at various electronic music institutes in Europe including the Center de Création Musicale- Iannis Xenakis- (CCMIX) in Paris and the EMS (ElektroMusikStudion) in Stockholm.
It divides its activity between teaching, composition and live performance.
He has collaborated as composer and electroacoustic performer with several artists including: Ana Topalovic, Domenico Sciajno, Todd Barton, Andrea Young, Agostino Di Scipio, Alvin Curran, Thoranna Bjornsdottir, Andrea Valle, Natasha Barrett and many others.
He currently lives and works in Rome.
