This master class will be covering Brazilian Jazz that will divided between three categories which are composition, improvisation and rhythm:
Alberto Giraldi: Harmony and Composition
Stefano Rossini: Rhythm
Sergio Galvao: Improvisation
The Masterclass will address the salient aspects of Brazilian Jazz, starting from the analysis of the songs by BRAG Trio and original compositions by Alberto Giraldi that range in all areas of this genre. Alberto Giraldi will address the harmonic and compositional aspects; Stefano Rossini will go into detail about the complex rhythmic world of Brazilian music; Sergio Galvao will talk about improvisation and melodic aspects.

Brazilian musician among the most accredited in his country. He is a saxophonist of unquestionable talent and he has played with the most important names in Brazilian popular music (Rosa Passos, Guinga, Lenine, Djavan and many others). He received 2 nominations at the Grammy Awards in 2014 in the “Best Latin jazz Album” and “Best improvised jazz solo” category.
Graduated in Experimental Composition School at the “S. Cecilia ”of Rome and is a composer, arranger, pianist, and has composed music for numerous theatrical works, for radio, television and advertising, all while dealing with the spread of new musical technologies.
He has dedicated many years of his life to the study of all percussion instruments, qualifying in various sectors with multiple professional experiences. In particular, he has enriched his experience and his musical studies with the knowledge of numerous instruments of African American culture. He has important collaborations in the field of African-American music, including percussionist Ray Mantilla, percussionist Lionel Hampton, Brazilian guitarist Toquinho, percussionist Luis Agudo, drummer Robertinho Silva, guitarist Toninho Horta, pianist and composer Joao Donato, the saxophonist Sergio Galvao, the guitarist and composer Guinga, the Brazilian saxophonist Daniela Spielmann and the guitarist Irio De Paula with whom he collaborates permanently in his “Trio Samba Jazz”.
