Saint Louis On-line Open Day for sound engineering and electronic music.
At this time when travel is limited due to the Covid-19 emergency, Saint Louis has decided to organize an online day to learn about the academic courses of Sound Engineering and Electronic Music by Saint Louis, the first and only private institution in Italy authorized by MIUR to issue I and II cycle academic qualifications.
By registering for the Open Day of 9th May, exclusively dedicated to the Departments of Sound Engineering and Electronic Music, you will be able to participate, free of charge, in workshops and demonstration lessons in videoconference, meeting the teachers of the online courses, who will be available for orientation activities and information relating to the educational offer of Saint Louis, the most important Italian educational reality of high artistic and musical education, with excellent students from all over Europe.
Sound Engineering Department
First and second cycle academic courses, with limited and selected access, for the training of professional sound-engineers for recording studios, for live events, for cinema, radio and television studios, but also for producers of electronic music through the professional use of state-of-the-art softwares, such as Max, Ableton, Cubase, Pro-Tools.
Electronic Music Department
The Department represents the state of the art of music technology, with first and second cycle academic courses, with limited and selected access, for the training of artists, Music Producers and electro-acoustic music composers, drawing inspiration, techniques and knowledge also from transversal fields, such as classical music, film music, jazz and rock, in a current and professionalizing vision. The educational offer is completed by pre-academic courses to complete their training and bring it to the appropriate level for access to academic courses and personalized courses, to start, deepen, specialize, grow.
Open Day program – May 9th
The day starts with an Orientation meeting dedicated to both Departments, where the different training courses will be illustrated, with a focus on study plans, educational programs and professional outlets. Following, you can choose between different workshop proposals: “Sound Skills and Instruments” by Fabrizio Angelini and “The Reverb: types and applications” by Davide Prestanicola, if you are interested in the Sound Engineering academic path; “Programming of a piece of music through Ableton Live” by Luca Spagnoletti and “Coding and Sound Design. Interactive development environments for sound design and real time” by Federico Placidi, for a focus on electronic music; “Sound Design with modular systems” by Luca Proietti and “Music production techniques” by Luigi Zaccheo to learn more about midi and music production.
You can actively participate in each workshop, interacting with the teachers, after registering on Zoom (links available shortly). It is necessary to book because each meeting has a limited number of people, just to allow for better interactivity and usability of the lesson.
