Adriano MazzolettiAdriano Mazzoletti

Born in Genoa. He is a journalist and deals with  jazz since 1955.

He was a Rai executive and the conductor of many radio programs; for 30 years he was part of the directorate of the Uer (European Union for Broadcasting), first of all as vice-president and then as president of the Jazz and Popular Music Department.

Since the 50s he undertook research and collected documents and testaments on European and Italian jazz and on italo-american musicians.

In 1965 his “Quarant’anni di jazz in Italia/ 40 years of Jazz in Italy” (Ricordi, 1965) was awarded the prize from the Record Industry Critique. He directed the “Grande Enciclopedia del Jazz/Great Jazz Enciclopedia” (Armando Curcio, 1982) and published a volume on guitarist Eddie Lang (Editoriale Pantheon, 1997) and the book “Il jazz in Italia: dalle origini alle grandi orchestre/Jazz in Italy: from the origins to the big orchestras”(EDT, 2004).
